From cemetery operators

The free-listing form, the walkthrough request, and the contact form collect what you type into them: your name, email, phone, role, the cemetery’s name and location, and your notes. We use it to reply to you and to run the directory listing you asked for. It is stored in our lead database (Airtable, a US cloud service) and copied to our own email when it arrives.

From families and visitors

When a family asks us to bring a cemetery online, we collect the cemetery’s name and, if given, the requester’s name and email — used to make the request and, when it succeeds, to tell the cemetery that families asked. On Grave Finder 360 — the family-facing product we run — submissions such as headstone photos, guest-book messages, corrections and family-connection suggestions can include a name, email, phone and relationship; that product carries its own privacy page.

Interment records

Interment records come from the cemetery, not from visitors. They are generally public record. The cemetery controls what publishes: nothing a visitor submits about a memorial appears without the cemetery’s office approving it, and the records never stop being the cemetery’s own.

Counting without cookies

We count visits server-side: which pages were opened, which cemeteries were looked up, and the referring site’s host name. No cookies, no IP addresses kept, no names, and nothing that identifies a visitor. The same is true of our 360° tours — we count which scenes are walked, never who walked them.

What we don’t do

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers named above that store it for us.
